Get Cozy With These Compact Luxury NYC Hotel Rooms

April 23, 2014

In New York, time is money, and so is square footage. As a result, hotel rooms are some of the most expensive in the country, out of the reach of many. But a number of NYC hotels have begun to pack luxury design into tiny quarters, lowering the cost and making for some beautiful rooms.

At the forefront of this small space sensation? The YOTEL, located right in the heart of NYC, and hip kids’ haven, The Jane.

The Jane offers themed cabins based on the hotel’s sailing history, with the cramped,  but er, cozy quarters you might expect from an early 20th-century Atlantic cruise.

YOTEL goes in entirely the opposite direction — at least in terms of design — by showing off a futuristic look reminiscent of “2001: A Space Odyssey.” CitizenM features micro-rooms in a retro style with a ’70s design influence. And The Pod hotels in Manhattan, Pod 39 and Pod 51, put minimalist design into a minimal space.

Each hotel offers a premium design experience in an affordable, pleasantly small interior. Take a look at our gallery to see which look you like best.
