Entire 2 and M train lines to run with 12- and 20-minute planned delays

September 21, 2018

Straphangers can expect planned delays on the entire 2 and M lines this weekend, which will respectively be running with 12-minute and 20-minute delays (incredibly exact estimates for an agency rarely known for predictable service). Otherwise, this weekend has a relatively non-crippling array of planned service changes.

The Manhattan-bound 1 train platform at 238 Street in the Bronx is closed through winter 2019. South-Ferry bound trains skip 238 Street.

2 trains run every 12 minutes. Wakefield-bound 2 trains run express from 3 Av-149 Street to E 180 Street. 2 trains replace 5 trains between 149 St-Grand Concourse and E 180 Street.

3 and 4 trains run express from Atlantic Av-Barclays Center to Utica Avenue – no downtown service at Bergen, Grand Army Plaza, Eastern Parkway, Nostrand Avenue or Kingston Avenue.

5 service operates in two sections: between 149 St-Grand Concourse and Bowling Green, every 20 minutes, and between E 180 St and Dyre Avenue, skipping 138 St-Grand Concourse. 5 trains run every 20 minutes between Bowling Green and 149 St-Grand Concourse.

Flushing-bound 7 trains skip 82, 90, 103 and 111 streets.

Ozone Park/Far Rockaway-bound A trains skip 116, 110, 103, 96 and 81 streets.

Euclid Av-bound C trains skip 116, 110, 103, 96 and 81 streets.

No D service at 7 Av, 47-50 streets, 42 St-Bryant Park, 34 St-Herald Square, Broadway-Lafayette and Grand Street. D trains run between Norwood-205 Street and 59 St-Columbus Circle, and via the A to/from Jay St-MetroTech, and via the F to/from Kings Highway, the last stop. Free shuttle buses operate between W 4 Street and Grand Street, stopping at Broadway-Lafayette Street. Manhattan-bound D trains skip 182-183 streets.

F trains run between Jamaica-179 Street and Lexington Av-63 Street and via the Q to/from Atlantic Av-Barclays Center, skipping DeKalb Av, and via the D to/from Stillwell Avenue. Free shuttle buses run between W 4 Street and East Broadway, and between Jay St-MetroTech and York Street.

M trains run every 20 minutes. Middle Village-bound M trains skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street and Flushing Avenue. M train service is extended to the Chambers Street J station.

N trains run via the R in both directions between Atlantic Av-Barclays Center and Canal Street. N trains run between Stillwell Avenue and Queensboro Plaza – free shuttle buses provide service between Queensboro and Ditmars Blvd.

Coney Island-bound Q trains skip Avenue U and Neck Road.

Crescent Street-bound J trains skip Hewes Street, Lorimer Street and Flushing Avenue. No J trains between Crescent Street and Jamaica Center – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

No G service between Nassau Avenue and Court Square – free shuttle buses provide alternate service.

Per the whims of the MTA, there will probably be other problems, and the problems stated above are subject to change and worsen.
