52-story Downtown Brooklyn rental opens lottery for 178 apartments, from $1,793/month

A housing lottery launched this week for 178 mixed-income apartments in a new residential tower in Downtown Brooklyn. Rising 52 stories at 589 Fulton Street, The Brook is one of the tallest buildings in the borough, offering apartments with views in every direction. New Yorkers earning 80 and 130 percent of the area median income can apply for the affordable units, priced from $1,793/month studios to $4,250/month two bedrooms.

Plans filed to transform Times Square office building into 942 apartments

A coalition of prominent New York City real estate figures has filed plans to transform a 38-story office building in Times Square into more than 900 new homes. As reported by The Real Deal, Apollo Global Management, in partnership with RXR and SL Green, aims to convert 5 Times Square into a mixed-use building with 942 apartments. This office-to-residential conversion would be one of the largest in the city to date, and the first in the heart of Times Square.

600-foot-tall luxury rental breaks ground in Downtown Brooklyn and beats 421-a deadline

Construction has officially begun on yet another new residential skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Located at 589 Fulton Street, The Brook is a 600-foot-tall luxury rental with 591 apartments and 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor amenities. Developed by Witkoff and Apollo and designed by Beyer Blinder Belle, the building broke ground just days before the 421-a tax abatement program expired, allowing developers to still cash in on the 35-year tax break.
