Located within the former Ansonia Clock Factory at 443 12th Street in Park Slope, this two-bedroom co-op was redesigned in 2014 by architect Philippe Baumann. The result, asking $2,150,000, is a duplex across three volumes that offers clean lines, large, livable spaces, and a stunning loft aesthetic that’s in keeping with the history of the 20th-century factory warehouse.

The 1,915-square-foot street-level loft is filled with natural light, made even more dramatic by triple-height ceilings. Framed by exposed brick and original beams, the home’s open spaces retain the warmth of the historic building. Unlike many contemporary lofts, the co-op’s living spaces and private quarters are well-defined.
The space is comprised of a lower level that anchors two mezzanine levels. The architect’s redesign showcases timeless materials and contemporary design using hardwood flooring, details in steel and wood, integrated LED lighting, and custom elements like closets and workspaces.

The expansive lower level contains a sun-filled living room that opens beneath 24-foot ceilings. On one side is a primary suite with capacious closets and a full-sized laundry room. A glass-tiled en-suite bath has concrete flooring and a walk-in shower room.

A steel staircase connects this floor to the volumes above. The first upper level holds an open eat-in kitchen and dining area. Granite worktops frame colorful European-style custom cabinetry, anchored by massive brick columns that offset the volume’s “floating” effect.

The top level holds another bedroom with a closet and more storage. A brilliant system of accordion panels allows each level to control privacy, light, and sound.
The historic converted South Slope warehouse is just a block from Prospect Park. The pet-friendly co-operative offers a communal rooftop with elevator access for stunning views of Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.
