After a short stint in Brooklyn, Amy Schumer is back on the Upper West Side. The comedian and actress recently sold her Brooklyn Heights townhouse for $11 million, with plans to move back to Manhattan to be close to her son’s school. As the New York Post first reported, Schumer bought a corner condo unit at 279 Central Park West for $6,250,000 about a year ago. The three-bedroom condo offers Central Park views from every room, most notably in the 36-foot-long living room.

Schumer is no stranger to the Upper West Side, owning several apartments in the neighborhood over the years, including a penthouse wrapped in glass on Riverside Drive and a charming co-op on West 80th Street. In 2022, she bought the home at 19 Cranberry Street, which was built in 1829 and measures about 4,500 square feet, for $12.25 million.
She listed the home last March for $14 million; it sold in December for $11 million. The sale comes as Schumer announced her separation from her husband, Chris Fischer, after seven years of marriage.

On the corner of West 88th Street and Central Park West, the apartment features a long gallery that leads to the Great Room, which measures 36 feet long and directly overlooks Central Park via stunning bay windows. Window seats with storage and a corner nook provide the best views.

On the other end of the living area is a dining room and chef’s kitchen, equipped with Carrara marble countertops, Smallbone cabinetry, and Sub-Zero appliances.

Also framed by park views, the primary suite is on the other side of the apartment and includes a huge walk-in closet and en-suite bath. The two additional bedrooms are connected by French doors, allowing for a flexible floor plan.
The apartment also conveniently has a full laundry room, a powder room, and central air conditioning.
Lisa K. Lippman of Brown Harris Stevens, who first listed the home for $6.5 million in October 2024, represented the seller.

Designed by Costas Kondylis, the 23-story 279 Central Park West has just 38 apartments, ideal for private living. The building offers a 24-hour doorman, concierge service, a fitness center, children’s play areas, and bike storage. The main perk is its prime address, with Central Park and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir directly across the street and the American Museum of Natural History a few blocks south.
