An affordable housing lottery opened this week for 156 apartments in the Bronx. Located at 1923 West Farms Road in West Farms, the 16-story rental dubbed Compass Six offers tenants spacious units and outdoor space. New Yorkers earning 30, 50, 70, and 80 percent of the area median income, or between $16,183 annually for a single person and $132,400 annually for a household of seven, can apply for the apartments, priced from $397/month studios to $2,273/month three bedrooms.

A 100 percent affordable housing building opened this week in the Bronx’s West Farms, an area with some of the lowest median household incomes in the country. Dubbed the Tremont Residences, the 11-story tower at 1973 Daly Avenue has 119 units, with about 60 percent of the apartments set aside for formerly homeless New Yorkers. The $50.6 million development includes on-site support for those who need support to live independently, according to officials.

The city on Thursday launched an affordable housing lottery for 280 mixed-income apartments in the Bronx neighborhood of West Farms. Located at 1932 Bryant Avenue, the newly constructed 15-story rental sits just two blocks from the 2, 5 subway trains and less than half a mile from the beloved Bronx Zoo. New Yorkers earning 30, 40, 50, 60 and 100 percent of the area median income are invited to apply for the units, ranging from a $354/month studio to a $2,075/month three-bedroom.

A lottery launched this week for 58 affordable units of senior housing in the West Farms neighborhood of the Bronx. Located at 1880 Boston Road, the development contains 167 affordable apartments with amenities including a yoga room, community room, art studio, library, and a rooftop terrace. The building is just a few blocks south of the Bronx Zoo and sits next to the Bronx River. Available studio and one-bedroom apartments are set aside for seniors who are 62 years or older and who earn a maximum of $31,750 annually. Each eligible resident pays 30 percent of their income and will need to qualify for Section 8.

Applications are currently being accepted for 180 newly constructed, affordable units in the West Farms neighborhood of the Bronx. The building at 1939 West Farms Road and 1926 Longfellow Avenue features an on-site super, security cameras, outdoor recreation space and on-site laundry. Qualifying New Yorkers earning 30, 40, 50, 60 and 120 percent of the area median income can apply for units ranging from a $396 per month one-bedroom to a $1,898 per month three-bedroom.

Applications are currently being accepted for nine newly constructed affordable units at 866 East 178th Street in the West Farms section of the Bronx. West Farms, which underwent the largest private rezoning in the Bronx ever a few years ago, is located in the southwest of the borough. Residents here can enjoy plenty of green space with access to the Bronx Park, Zoo and the Bronx River. New Yorkers earning 80 percent of the area median income can apply to rent four one-bedrooms for $1,348 per month and five two-bedrooms for $1,521 per month.
