200+ affordable apartments available at the Bronx’s border with Westchester, from $465/month

More than 200 affordable apartments are available at a new transit-oriented development in New York City’s northernmost neighborhood. Located on the border of Westchester County at 4641 Furman Avenue in the Bronx, Wakefield Yards brings deeply affordable housing to a convenient neighborhood, with the 2 train across the street and the Metro-North Harlem line a few blocks east. New Yorkers earning 30, 50, 60, and 80 percent of the area median income can apply for the units, priced from $465/month studios to $2,534/month three bedrooms.
Developed by Radson Development, the 100 percent affordable project brings 212 apartments to the site of a former gas station. The sustainable building is LEED Platinum certified and features rooftop solar panels. It was also developed through the state’s Brownfield Cleanup Program, ensuring the site is not only affordable but environmentally safe, according to inCitu.
Amenities include a rooftop terrace, green space, a recreation room, a shared laundry room, and bike storage lockers. Apartments feature high-end kitchen appliances, air conditioning, and high-speed internet.
Wells Fargo’s Community Lending and Investment division provided $179.1 million in financing to Radson Development for the project, according to Yimby.
In March, Radson launched an augmented reality feature in partnership with inCitu to help New Yorkers visualize the project. By scanning QR codes posted around the site, residents can see a 3D preview of what the completed building will look like.
Nearby public transit options include the 2 subway line, the Bx31, Bx39, and BxM11 buses, and the Metro-North Harlem line.

Qualifying New Yorkers can apply for the apartments until September 23, 2025. Complete details on how to apply are available here. Preference for 20 percent of the units is given to residents of Bronx Community District 12.
Questions regarding this offer must be referred to NYC’s Housing Connect department by dialing 311.
