A loft at the landmarked 53 Crosby Street is back on the market after being listed for $3.35 million just a month ago. However, this time the two-bedroom co-op is available for rent, asking $10,500 per month. The unfurnished space reminds us of a dance studio, with its oversized windows, hardwood floors and interesting choice of mirrored walls in the entertaining space. So, we had to take a look inside. What we found is a nicely renovated, modern loft that has everything you would want out of Soho living… including its location on one of the neighborhood’s most coveted cobblestone streets.
As you can see, the keyed elevator enters directly into the unit, which measures a substantial 2,275 square feet. More than half of that space is dedicated to the expansive living room right off the entrance. There’s no shortage of natural light with enormous new windows; 12-foot ceilings; and massive, light-reflecting mirrors. The living area features an entertainment center with custom built-ins and a few clever alcoves that could easily become home offices.
Off the great room is the dining room and chef’s kitchen, which is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances such as a Sub-Zero refrigerator, a Gaggenau 5 burner vented range, and a Miele oven. The kitchen also has custom cabinetry, stone countertops, and a quartz-stone backsplash.
The sizable master has large closets and a pretty gorgeous en suite bathroom with a steam shower and one of the home’s characteristic wooden beams to offset its luxurious decor. There’s also a second bedroom for children or visiting guests.
