Tom Brokaw lists 56-acre Westchester family compound on a private lake for $6.3M

Newscaster/household name Tom Brokaw has listed the 56-acre estate in Pound Ridge, NY that he and his wife, Meredith Auld, have owned for nearly 20 years, The Real Deal reports. The listing, asking $6.3 million, appeared on Tuesday according to property records. The family compound includes a 4,000-square-foot main house, a pool house and a caretaker’s cottage, all on a private five-acre lake.
Sitting at the edge of a pristine lake, the 4,000-square-foot stucco-and-shingle main house has three bedrooms and a guest bedroom.
Cozy yet polished interiors have wide-plank pine floors, Venetian plaster walls, exposed beams and window walls to bring in light and frame the gorgeous views.
Spaces for entertaining and quiet family life blend together at the center of the home in a great room with a vaulted ceiling and stone fireplace. Doors lead to a screened porch overlooking the water.
The first floor master suite opens onto a terrace with hot tub; there’s a guest room and two additional family bedrooms.
A swimming pool is overlooked by a pool house that’s dramatically sited at the water’s edge. A one-bedroom guest/caretaker’s cottage is on the property as well.
Covering the property’s 56 acres are level lawns, mountain laurel and evergreens. There are two additional approved building lots for expanding the family compound.
The NBC News legend purchased the property for about $4.25 million in 1998. The couple own a ranch in Montana that is currently on the market for $17.9 million and an apartment on the Upper East Side.
