Federica Bubani’s Wood and Ceramic Nordic Lamp is Beautifully Strange

Italian designer Federica Bubani is constantly researching and experimenting with new materials, but she especially loves ceramics. One of her latest designs, the beautifully strange Nordic Lamp, was the result of one of her explorations. The lamp consists of two parts made from the earthen material, which together with the wooden parts and grey cable give the design a cool Scandinavian appearance.

Bubani’s lamp has two ceramic bases that have been machined on a lathe by hand. This provides a warm, textured aesthetic with an inherent human touch. These two parts are joined together by parallel wooden arms, creating a material combination that is natural, warm and offers a nod to Scandinavian style.

This beautiful design can be positioned at various angles, allowing it to shine in different directions. Perfect as a bedside lamp, its soft color palette can adapt to any interior style without overbearing. Simple and well executed, we love Federica Bubani’s design.
