Park Avenue penthouse with enormous terrace owned by Maurice Tempelsman lists for $5.5M

The Park Avenue penthouse owned by Maurice Tempelsman, Jackie Kennedy Onassis's longtime companion, is now on the market. Tempelsman, who died last summer at the age of 95, bought the top-floor co-op at 1155 Park Avenue in Carnegie Hill for $3.3 million in 1999, as the New York Times reported. Now asking $5.5 million, the two-bedroom pre-war apartment is surrounded by an enormous, landscaped terrace, providing a serene rooftop garden with views of Manhattan and Central Park.

Katie Couric sells her Park Avenue pad for $7.8M

Update 6/21/18: The Post now reports that Couric’s apartment closed for $7,780,000, according to property records. The buyers are Dana Wallach Jones, general counsel for the Guggenheim Museum, and Michael Jones, the CFO of Lambert Television. The couple is active on the board of the American Museum of Natural History, which is just across the park from their new digs.

Katie Couric sells her Park Avenue pad for $7.8M

Twenty years ago, celebrated news anchor Katie Couric bought a classic, five-bedroom co-op at 1155 Park Avenue. But after remarrying in 2014 to financier John Molner in 2014, the couple upgraded to a $12 million, full-floor apartment at the Peter Pennover-designed 151 East 78th Street. Couric first listed her longtime Upper East Side home this past October for $8.25 million; she then dropped the price to $7,995,000 at the end of January, and now the Post reports that the home has gone into contract.

Last year, Katie Couric and her husband of nearly two years, financier John Molner purchased a five-bedroom full-floor apartment at the Peter Pennover-designed 151 East 78th Street, paying $12,168,087. Now, the New York Post reports that the celebrated news anchor's longtime home at 1155 Park Avenue is for sale. The 10-room co-op, listed for $8.25 million, has five bedrooms and high ceilings, large windows, original parquet flooring and treetop views over Park Avenue's famous tulip gardens. The classic Upper East Side full-service building offers a 24-hour doorman and a fitness center among its perks.
