Maplewood Senior Living is known for its upscale senior living residences, but its newest brand, Inspīr, was designed specifically for urban markets. The brand’s flagship senior living residence, Inspīr Carnegie Hill, is located on the Upper East Side at 1802 Second Avenue at 93rd Street. It recently opened, offering residents the “Ultimate New York City Experience,” which includes partnerships with local cultural institutions and wellness providers, as well as with the geriatrics program at Mt. Sinai. In addition, amenities at the 23-story tower include an open-air SkyPark, fitness center, heated saltwater pool, and daily meals from two fine dining establishments.

Inspīr Carnegie Hill was designed by Handel Architects, who, according to a press release, “prioritized the organization of the interior program around what matters most in its urban context: views to the city at large, access to natural light and fresh air through windows and sliding doors, bringing the outdoors in and allowing for monumental public spaces.” The entire concept of the residence was inspired by the brand’s Nine Core Elements–engagement, purpose, movement and mobility, art and music, belonging, family, brain health, nature, laughter–that are based on “commonalities found in areas around the world, known as blue zones, where people live longer, happier lives.”

A dedicated physician from nearby Mt. Sinai will provide on-site primary care, geriatric consultations, and oversight of on-site laboratory services. There’s also a partnership with the Horticultural Therapy Program at NYU Langone Health. Namaste Wellness will offer group classes, workshops, and individual sessions that include modified yoga, assisted stretch, strength conditioning, mindfulness meditation, and nutrition coaching.

Another fun perk is Stage Access, an on-demand streaming platform that delivers performing arts content such as dance, opera, and theater, directly to residents in 2D and virtual reality. Separately, a partnership with The Actors Fund welcomes entertainment and arts professionals into the building for various programming.

Amenities include a luxury salon, an open-air landscaped SkyPark on the 17th floor, a bar and lounge serving signature cocktails and wines and spirits, library, art studio, fitness center, heated saltwater pool, screening room, two fine dining options, a 24-hour attended lobby, concierge, Mercedes-Maybach house car available daily, and limousine service available upon request.

The residences feature floor-to-ceiling glass windows, open layouts, and bright, modern designs. They come in studio, one- and two-bedroom layouts.
