Oscar winner Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, just purchased a seaside home in Westport, Connecticut, the New York Observer reports. The five-bedroom Colonial-style home, built in 1920, exudes New England charm–right down to the red front door–and is steps from Compo Beach. Known as CompoBello, the home sits on .9 acres and includes a pool and a fully-stocked outdoor kitchen. The home’s interiors have recently been renovated. The couple paid $2.79 million for the 4,198-square-foot retreat.

On the first floor, a big, sunny custom kitchen has marble countertops and a hefty island. The kitchen opens to a great room anchored by a fireplace.

The formal dining room boasts a large stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings and french doors leading to a patio and garden.

Upstairs, two separated wings hold the home’s five bedrooms. The master suite opens onto a private redwood deck.

On the surrounding grounds are a pool and lounge area and a 1,518-square-foot pool house.

French doors in the living room open onto a patio with a Viking built-in outdoor kitchen.

The actress is no stranger to the real estate game; the pair currently own a two-bedroom co-op on the Upper West Side and a six-bedroom LA home in Laurel Canyon.
