140 Manhattan Avenue, Harlem brownstone, Doctor’s Row

Yes, this is actually a Manhattan residence, not a Brooklyn pad in disguise. The renovated single-family brownstone is located just a block from Central Park and is brimming with charm.

The cozy and familiar home has an owner of practically 50 years who has updated the interior with modern comforts like radiant heated floors, but it’s details like decorative fireplaces and stained glass accents that make this place truly special.

2 West 67th Street, Sixty-Seventh Streets Artists Colony Historic District, Workshop APD, Rich & Mathesius

About two years ago, this impeccable pad on Central Park West sold for $4.3 million. Today, after an extensive gut renovation, the apartment is back on the market asking $8.495 million—nearly twice its initial price. But that 50% increase includes a Workshop/APD redesign, complete with “museum quality finishes” and only the finest craftsmanship. The finished product evokes a sense of calm sophistication in a supreme duplex with partial views of the city and Central Park.

15 Central Park West

Israeli-American fashion designer Elie Tahari has snatched up two units at famed, Robert A.M. Stern– designed 15 Central Park West for a combined $25.25 million, according to city records released today. The pair of adjacent apartments was originally marketed for a total of $29 million.

Tahari had previously been renting a three-bedroom unit in the star-studded building for $30,000 a month, but it looks like he’s decided to make his stay more permanent, now occupying an entire private floor. Unit 9m has two bedrooms, 1,862 square feet of interior space, and 1,619 square feet of outdoor space. Unit 9G is a three-bedroom unit with 2,237 square feet inside and a spectacular 1,700-square-foot terrace. Both spaces appear to offer a pretty clean slate, perfect for the creative new owner to imbue his signature tailored, modern vibe.

15 Central West, Robert DeNiro, Leroy Schecter, Upper West Side real estate

Robert De Niro‘s new home may not be in his beloved Tribeca, but the full-floor pad at 15 Central Park West is one of the city’s most expensive rentals. Unit 35AB is two separate condos combined into one on the 35th floor. The 6,000-square-foot, five-bedroom apartment is owned by steel magnate Leroy Schecter, who purchased the property in 2008 for $18.9 million. He originally put the condo on the market in 2012 for $95 million, then reduced it to $85 million in April 2013, and once again to $70 million in November.

De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower were displaced in 2012 when a fire ripped through their triplex at the Brentmore, 88 Central Park West. The couple has been renting in the West Village, but it looks like they wanted to return to the Upper West Side while renovations are completed on their permanent home. And they’re in good company; Alex Rodriguez and investor Henry Silverman have rented the same unit in the past.

211 Central Park West, taxidermy apartment, apartment interior, with animals

If Norman Bates were a real person we imagine he’d be rather fixated on this terrifying homage to our furry and feathery friends at The Beresford. If you ask Halstead realtor Robert Dowling about 211 Central Park West #3J, he would tell you that it’s a rare gem with soaring 10-foot ceilings, and plenty of windows. The woman in the shower… would tell you to run. Either way, we just couldn’t pass up the chance to explore this unique pad and its current owner’s interesting style. But you might want to make sure Fido leaves the room before you continue.

285 Central Park West, St. Urban, living room, country chic, country and city, new york interiors, million dollar listing

Hiding away in the premier St. Urban, 285 Central Park West #12W is what you imagine was the result when old-world country mouse met old-world city mouse… and the two bought a lavish Central Park apartment. With gorgeous pre-war details accented with a touch of country chic, this 3,000-square-foot Beaux-Arts style apartment has a combination of opulence and southern comfort to make anyone happy. In fact, we suspect if Oliver and Lisa from Green Acres had purchased this place, it would have settled all their arguments.

Annie Liebovitz new home interior

Robert De Niro just got a new neighbor, and it’s esteemed photographer Annie Liebovitz. Liebovitz nabbed the Brentmore co-op for $11.25 million, a bit lower than the $14.5 million asking price from a year and a half ago. However, the celebrity photographer will be gaining more than an A-list neighbor. After a long day of work she’ll have a gorgeous 3BR/3.5 bath duplex to return to. The apartment has its own appreciation for the picturesque, with large windows framing Central Park and delivering front row views to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Tiptoe Through the Treetops at 25 Central Park West

By Stephanie Hoina, Thu, May 15, 2014

25 Central Park West, The Century

The phrase “stunning views of Central Park” could have been first uttered for this elegant and meticulously gut-renovated Century Condominium apartment. From nearly every vantage point you feel like you’re walking on the treetops of New York City’s renowned oasis of green – a view that has been enjoyed by the inhabitants of #14J since the Century opened in 1932 on the former site of the historic Century Theater.

Sharing an Art Deco motif with its sister building The Majestic (on 72nd across from the Dakota), the 32-story Century stands out among its predominantly Beaux-Arts neighbors and became part of the Central Park West historic district in 1985.

Demi Moore made news this week when word got out that she would be putting her San Remo triplex up for sale for a whopping $75 million. While no listing or photos of the 7,000-square-foot 145 Central Park West space have surfaced (apparently Moore is quietly showing it), one of 6sqft’s reporters did some sleuthing and found these old black and whites from the Museum of the City of New York which pretty much meet the specs: of the two triplexes in San Remo today, one was made combining the only two-story unit in the building and the mechanical space above it. Moore and then hubby Bruce combined a two-story unit with the space above it…

Though we’re sure the decor has changed since the Spring of 1937 when it was occupied by Theodore C. Wiehe, with a little bit of imagination we bet you can fill in the gaps. So sit back, relax, and enjoy this blast from the past. And if you’ve got some money to spend, make Ms. Moore an offer. You’ll also be granted the record of “the person to have spent the most money on a co-op ever“. A win?

What do comedian Jerry Seinfeld, singer Diana Ross, tennis player John McEnroe, actor Tony Randall and publisher Helen Gurley Brown have in common?  They have all called 211 Central Park West — better known as The Beresford — home.

But The Beresford’s claim to fame isn’t its host of famous residents but rather its three majestic towers, whose design limits the number of apartments on each floor to only two or three. Opened in 1929, architect Emery Roth’s spectacular residential fortress boasts spacious rooms, soaring ceilings, a charming interior courtyard containing a fountain and a garden, and incredible views of Central Park.
