Find Peace and Quiet at Home With the Whisper Noise Canceler

July 1, 2016

Noisy neighbors keeping you up at night? Garbage trucks blaring before the alarm? Drunk revelers making it hard to hear the television? Soundproof your apartment by installing the Whisper Noise Canceler, an innovative acoustical system that promises to silence indoor noise. It works with an outdoor unit that is mounted on the exterior of a wall, door, or window and detects external noise. A corresponding indoor device emits anti-phase sound waves to counterbalance this and reduce the noise.

The device takes into account how harmful noise can be to one’s heath, leading to insomnia, neurasthenia, hearing damage, and middle ear issues. Most noise-reducing headphones only cancel out low-frequency noise below 1,000Hz, though human hearing goes up to 14,000Hz. That’s why Whisper has the capability to block out noise up to this level.

It runs on both solar polar and an external electrical supply, charges wirelessly, and uses bluetooth for wireless data transfer.

Whisper is currently raising funds on Kickstarter. So far, 34 backers have pledge $8,342 of the $557,085 goal with 53 days to go. The peace and quiet will cost you, though; Whisper will retail for $325.
